The group's primary research collection of books and documents is available for free public use at Blayney Library. It includes publications on family histories; immigration; schools and organisations that were established in the shire; as well as general topics relating to the growth of European settlement in the area and the Australian story. Mining histories of the district are among the collection, as well as guides to the study of genealogy. A collection of parish maps is in storage but can be made available for research purposes by appointment.
Blayney district newspapers on microfilm are also kept at the library for study. It is an extensive, but not complete, collection. Titles are The Blayney Advocate & Carcoar Herald; Carcoar Chronicle; Millthorpe Post; West Macquarie ; Lyndhurst Shire Chronicle and the Blayney Chronicle
Research
Members will also undertake research for non-members or members who are unable to access the library. A research fee of $30.00 per hour is charged. An extra cost will be charged for printing and postage if required. Enquiries by post or email are preferred.
Blayney Library is located at 48 Adelaide Street, Blayney. The library is closed on Wednesday and Sunday but is open all other days with the hours of 11am-1pm. 2pm-5pm except Saturday which is 10am-12 noon.
