Blayney Railway Station Interpretation
The buildings on Blayney railway station are currently being refurbished by Sydney Trains to established a Creative Arts centre in unused buildings. Stage 1 of the project, the painting and restoration of the exterior is complete, and the buildings have been returned to their 1920s colour scheme, reflecting the heritage of the station.
Group members are currently working with the Freeman Ryan Design company who have been tasked with interpreting the station's history as part of its renovations. To this end, stories, memorabilia, and photographs are being sought to assist this project.
We are particularly needing input on these aspects of the station's story: Circus trains; the refreshment room; Railway Institute; Railway football and cricket teams.
Please contact the group as soon as possible to contribute.
